You can choose any words relative to the situation.BUT don’t too hard!

(1)The child’s communicate may by making sounds,move their body or reaching for something,pointing,making gesture. Even  make up his own gesture.

(2)If you wait, but child doesn’t communicate with you, you can create opportunities again.

(3)If child still doesn’t start an interaction with you. You can lead child to express his need. (see  the examples given above, step 3).
